Losing weight with Lyme disease

When people say the grass is greener on the other side they could not possibly be more correct. Those who have slow metabolisms would do anything to be able to eat whatever & stay skinny. For me however, my extremely fast metabolism has been more of a curse than a blessing. It used to be nice that I could eat whatever, whenever & stay so small, until my stomach turned into a hot mess & eating a lot wasn't an option. My weight quickly started dropping & now I find myself weighing 87 pounds & feeling really lost as to how I got here.

Chronic illnesses put a huge strain on the body. It's working to fight off pathogens with your immune system, and at the same time give you the calories your body needs to survive. Treatment hasn't been nearly as easy breezy as I had expected. I'm really not sure where I got the idea that it would be simple, but I think my positive thinking talked my subconscious in to  it. The current goal is to somehow raise my weight up to a stable place & then I can worry about resuming treatment. The last thing I need right now is a feeding tube I can guarantee you that.

The catch here is I can't eat gluten, sugar, caffeine, & limited dairy. Oh & no fried foods either. Hmm... I always wondered when someone would develop a pill to slow down your metabolism. We have about 200 products out there to speed it up.

Anyways that's what's currently happening, I'm certainly hoping my next post isn't somewhere in a hospital bed. Yuck. Wish me luck!

Xoxo

Hello, I have always had a fast metabolism and am struggling with lyme. I lost 10kg and now am trying to find ways to put some back on, while eating low carb, no dairy, no sugar, no gluten etc... it's not easy! Have you had any luck?

Hi, I can relate to that. I have been feeling weak etc, and I get scared when people tell me I have been losing weight. in reality I have been skinny all my life except maybe a few more pounds in college, but I do feel the tight skin on my bones etc, however, my weight has been similar for over 3 years, between 142- 146, it is just that it feels that I am skinnier for some reason( i do physical therapy etc and that may be a reason to see more toning), but I definitely cna notice it although and looking to gain weight by also trying to create muscle mass. this is a good post by the way. thank you.
