Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and it can be a fun occasion to get your loved one or friends a little gift to cheer them up. My friends have always done 'Galentine's Day' where we get each other small gifts to simply say, "you matter, you are loved, and I am so lucky to have you as my friend!"
Whether you are buying for a loved one, significant other, daughter, mother, or friend, this list is full of Spoonie friendly ideas that are all under $30 or less.

Amore Di Mona Boxed Chocolate ($29): I have loved this chocolatier for many years now, and it's because they have gourmet chocolate that is vegan and sugar free and tastes amazing. Their truffles are such a decadent treat and it's so aesthetically pleasing in its gorgeous packaging. Their chocolates are Vegan, Non GMO, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Tree Nut free, Corn free, Peanut free, Soy free, Egg free, and totally Allergy friendly! Their chocolate base is French cocoa butter, Belgian chocolate solids, Agave Nectar & vanilla bean. Inside this boxed chocolate set you have truffles made up of just the chocolate base, and then some have crisped rice in them, some have cranberries, some have black currants, etc. The box tells you what is what, and there is a nice variety of flavors all around. The amount of agave nectar is minimal, and it's the perfect balance of sweet & chocolate. This makes a beautiful gift, and one which is sure to please any chocolate lover in your life! They also sell a heart shaped chocolate box, but that's at a $35 price point, so a bit over the budget I set for this post. However, also adorable!
Bedrest Support Pillow ($25): If someone spends a lot of time in bed it can quickly become uncomfortable. These pillows are made especially for bedrest by helping the person stay upright, yet supported. It has excellent support for the neck, back and arms while watching TV, reading, relaxing, etc. It is also pretty lightweight and easy to transport from the bed to the couch. They come in many different colors. I picked the pink for the Valentine's Day theme, but it comes in every color imaginable! This is a gift that someone doesn't think to buy for themselves but will be very grateful to receive.
Boxed Valentine's Day Sock Set ($21): I love cozy socks, and I am a sucker for socks that are also festive. I chose this gift set because it comes beautifully boxed and has 12 packs of socks! The gift itself doesn't need any extra wrapping because it arrives already packaged up for you, and inside are all the cute festive socks! If you are looking for a less expensive option or just less socks in general, you can also get a 6 pack Valentine's sock set, however these don't come in a gift box. It all comes down to a personal preference, but I found that socks make a great gift for just about anyone young or old!
Boxed Valentine's Day Mug ($13): Keeping with the theme of pre-boxed gifts, this mug is beautifully packaged up and ready to gift. I love boxed gifts the most because it's easy to ship directly to your recipient and you don't have to pay extra for wrapping. I am also a big fan of themed mugs because they just add a little bit of cheer to the day. Sure I could drink my tea from any old mug, but it just makes me feel better to drink it from a mug covered in hearts and flowers!
Personalized 'You're The Best' Pillowcase ($23): I am a sucker for personalized items. I love how they make the gift receiver feel extra special that you took the time to get something from the heart specifically for them. You can customize the name and colors to suite the needs of the recipient. This would make a nice gift for someone who is often bed/couch bound and could use a reminder of how much they are loved. I think it is especially important to remind our chronically ill friends that they are not alone, and not to give up. This is a soft and cozy way of doing just that :)
Boxed Valentine's Day Bath Bombs ($18): Are you sensing a theme here? I told you I loved pre-boxed items! I have gifted these to my girlfriends and gotten excellent reviews. They are vegan, cruelty free, use essential oils, and are made with natural ingredients like cocoa butter & olive oil. Not to mention, their presentation is incredible! It looks like a box of tiny desserts, and it makes for a stunning gift. Bath bombs are put into the bathtub to fizz and change the water color. They also release essential oils to create an aromatherapy experience. These make a great companion for someone who likes to take epsom salt baths to detox, and is also great for anyone who enjoys a relaxing bath.
Boxed Friendship Necklace Set ($25): This is a sweet gift to give to a close friend, or someone who is special to you. I particularly love this, because on the toughest days of a chronic illness it's nice to have a reminder that you are surrounded by people who love you. A friendship necklace is an easy way to remind that friend that you are there for them through the storm. These are handmade and come beautifully packaged up in a box ready to gift. They also have other Handmade items such as Mother/Daughter necklaces as well.
Bonsai Garden Planting Kit ($25): You know what I'm about to say, right? Yep, this is a boxed gift set! It's also a bit of an unusual gift recommendation, but one which is a lot of fun! It can often get lonely for someone with a chronic illness who spends most of their time indoors. It can also get sad to watch the world from your bedroom window. This Bonsai Kit has everything needed to grow 4 different types of mini Bonsai trees. And you can do it from inside your home! All you need to do is set up these kits and water them as needed. They will grow indoors & make for a fun low energy activity for a loved one. It's a unique gift, and one which I have also gifted to a friend this last Christmas (she loved it!).
Valentine's Day Jigsaw Puzzle ($13): I love jigsaw puzzles. If you get a puzzle mat you can easily work on it in bed, which makes it a low energy distraction that is perfect for chronic illnesses. When you are sick and either stuck in bed or easily fatigued, it's nice to have activities which don't take up too much extra energy. Jigsaw puzzles fit the bill, and they make a nice gift for someone who could use a little distraction and fun in their lives. I adore working on puzzles, and it's something my mom and I like to do together.
Waterproof Shower Radio ($12): I have this exact radio, and I love it because it holds a long charge & has great volume. If your loved one takes epsom salt baths for detoxing then this will come in handy because it allows them to enjoy music, a podcast, or an audiobook while relaxing. I like to use mine during my showers because personally I find showers to be very exhausting. I do not do well with the heat, as is the case for many chronic illness patients. Listening to a podcast while I shower helps to distract me, which has actually become invaluable. This is one of those gifts that people don't often think to buy for themselves but once they receive it they wonder how they ever lived without it! Bonus: It's very light and portable anywhere!
Bed Table/Desk ($23): This is another item which is great for someone who spends a lot of time resting in bed or on the couch. It's helpful to have a sturdy bed desk/table to eat on or do other activities. I use my table to do just about everything, including working on crafts, coloring, puzzles, eating, etc. It's another item which people often don't think to buy for themselves, but it makes a very helpful companion. These tables are easy to clean and easily fold up and can be stored under the bed or between the bed/bedside table. It comes in colors other than pink such as silver, black and also has a wooden version which I own as well.
Fragrance Free Natural Skincare Gift Set ($18): Skincare spa sets make the perfect gifts because it's always nice to get to pamper yourself every once in a while. When you have a chronic illness though it can be hard to find nice skincare products which are free of parabens, chemicals, and fragrance. Finding good natural skincare is a task in an of itself. This gift set is unscented and made only of natural ingredients, and it comes nicely boxed up and ready for gifting!
