Wow, long time no speak. I promise though, that this time my silence was for good cause. It's because I was busy, but not busy in a sense that I was "too busy" for this community. But busy doing a lot of advocacy work that I can't wait to share much more in depth!
The spark notes version is that September of 2025 I organized a runway show for Lyme disease at New York Fashion Week with the support of Global Lyme Alliance, LymeLight Foundation, and Project Lyme. We had patients, doctors, researchers, and celebrities walk the runway and shine a spotlight on Lyme. We also raised nearly $40,000 while doing so! I have a lot more to share on this event, how it came about, and all of the nitty gritty details in the future, but just know that it was a labor of love, and one I will cherish forever.
Following that I kept busy in many ways, including being a part of the Center for Lyme Action National Day of Advocacy where I spoke to my legislators in Kentucky, joining the Jr. Board for the Global Lyme Alliance, and having other legislative opportunities locally.
Fast forward to a few more advocacy events, and a lot of work, and I am so proud to say that last month I accepted the position of Chair for the GLA Jr. Board! I truly can't wait to fill everyone in on all of the happenings, because the one thing I made a promise to myself for (and all of you), is that I would never ever forget this community. And when I could physically do more I would give it my all. Just know that I kept every word of that promise.

Through my blog I am giving away 4 tickets to the upcoming Global Lyme Alliance event on October 4! The event is a mixer held at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square, and is a time for our community to come together and have a chance to connect. The event will include light bites and a welcome toast for everyone! We've rented out a private space within the Hard Rock, and are selling tickets both online and at the door. However, I know the burden of Lyme treatment, and that purchasing a ticket is not feasible for everyone. And we want to make sure that everyone who wants to be there, to find community and connect, can be there.
The 4 free tickets can be given away as singles, in pairs, or for a group! Please email me at [email protected] and the first people to claim them will receive the tickets! It's as simple as that.
